Not just remembering. Remembering responsibly.

Where information came from, how it changed and which question it helps answer stay connected.

CURRENT MEMORY / CONTINUITY LINE

A message becomes memory only when its source and delivery are verified.

With the 30 August 2026 continuity gate, memory now follows one model-independent, source-rooted lifecycle tied to real client delivery.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE / 01

“I prefer concise answers.”

This is a preference stated by the user. A random webpage or model guess does not carry the same authority.

MENTAL LEDGER

Every record answers “how do I know this?” with source, evidence, confidence, privacy and revision.

SOURCEEVIDENCECONFIDENCEPRIVACYREVISION
01ACK REQUIRED

DELIVERY GATE

A response the user never saw cannot enter shared history.

02ADMISSION 0

SOURCE GATE

Source-less or LegacyUnknown factual records are rejected from the prompt.

03IDENTITY STAYS

MODEL CONTINUITY

Changing the model or backend cannot change identity admission.

04OVERALL ACCEPTANCE OPEN

FORGETTING AND REVOCATION

Controlled deletion exists for source-linked records; overall closure for older records with missing provenance remains open.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE / RECALL

How does a memory inform an answer?

01 / QUESTION

“Do you remember our decision about the presentation?”

This example explicitly asks to recall the past. Not every new message searches the entire archive.

02 / SELECTION

Relevant, sourced history is retrieved.

Records are selected with provenance and uncertainty. If active evidence is insufficient, eligible explicit recall requests may consult the cold archive as a second stage.

03 / CONTEXT

Selected records accompany the model.

The model does not act as if it memorised all history. Relevant memories, the current question and permission boundaries enter the response context.

04 / ANSWER

“We chose a short summary, followed by technical notes.”

This illustrative answer is supported only if the corresponding conversation record exists. Missing evidence must not be replaced by an invented memory.

What does “coming to mind” mean here?

It means selecting relevant records and bringing them into response context—not a claim of consciousness, inner experience or human recollection. Corrections, source withdrawal and forgetting affect later use. Persistent memory is not training written into model weights.

05 / CORRECTABLE UNDERSTANDING

You can correct its understanding of you.

Preferences retain their supporting evidence and uncertainty. A single conversation does not become a permanent personality judgment; your corrections matter.

Example prompt“I prefer shorter answers now.”

06 / SHARED HISTORY

Shared decisions keep their context.

Decisions and milestones link back to the relevant conversations. Imported history stays distinct from new interactions with the application, without a relationship designed to demand constant attention.

Example prompt“Which conversation led to this decision?”

07 / IMAGINATION AND REALITY

New ideas are not remembered as real events.

Creative content labelled as dreams or imagination stays separate from factual memories. Ideas can become goal candidates only through suitability and authority checks. This is not a claim of consciousness.

Example prompt“Is this an idea or something that happened?”
